14 Best Travel Packing Tips, According to Frequent Flyers

Pack well when traveling by Justintime Travels

Traveling can be a thrilling experience, but packing? Not so much. Whether you’re a seasoned frequent flyer or a first-time traveler, packing efficiently can save you time, energy, and stress. In this guide, we’ll explore the best travel packing tips, according to frequent flyers, to help you pack smarter and travel more comfortably. 1. Start with a Packing List Before you even think about opening your suitcase, create a packing list. Frequent travelers swear by this practice, as it ensures you won’t forget anything essential. Break your list into categories like clothes, toiletries, and gadgets, and check off each item as you pack it. 2. Roll, Don’t Fold. One of the top travel packing tips is to roll your clothes instead of folding them. Rolling not only saves space in your luggage but also helps reduce wrinkles. This method is especially useful for packing bulkier items like jackets or sweaters. 3. Use Packing Cubes. Packing cubes are a game-changer for frequent flyers. These simple yet effective tools help you organize your clothes, shoes, and accessories, making it easier to find what you need without rummaging through your entire suitcase. Plus, they help you maximize your luggage space. 4. Choose Versatile Clothing. To avoid overpacking, opt for clothing that can be mixed and matched easily. Neutral colors and versatile items like scarves and jackets allow you to create multiple outfits from a few pieces. This is one of the best packing tips for anyone trying to keep their luggage light. 5. Don’t Forget The Essentials. When packing, make sure to bring the essentials that will make your travel comfortable. These include things like medications, a portable charger, snacks, and headphones. Frequent flyers often recommend carrying these items in your carry-on to have easy access. 6. Pack Smart for Security Avoid delays at security checkpoints by packing smartly. Frequent flyers recommend placing items like liquids, electronics, and your passport in easily accessible pockets or compartments. This will save time when you need to pull them out for inspection. 7. Minimize Toiletries. Most frequent flyers agree that toiletry items take up valuable space in your luggage. Stick to travel-sized bottles or opt for solid toiletries like shampoo bars and toothpaste tablets. This will help you avoid carrying unnecessary liquids while complying with airport regulations. 8. Use Compression Bags for Bulkier Items. If you’re traveling with bulky items like jackets or blankets, compression bags can save you a significant amount of space. These bags work by removing the air from your clothes, allowing them to fit more easily into your suitcase. 9. Pack Your Shoes Smartly. Shoes are notorious space hogs, but you don’t have to leave them behind. Frequent flyers recommend stuffing socks, belts, or accessories inside your shoes to save space. Additionally, choose shoes that are versatile and appropriate for different occasions during your trip. 10. Leave Room for Souvenirs. One of the key travel packing tips from frequent flyers is to leave extra room in your luggage for souvenirs. You don’t want to find yourself in a situation where you have to squeeze in new items while everything is already packed to the brim. 11. Use Ziplock Bags for Liquids Instead of packing liquids directly into your suitcase, use ziplock bags to prevent spills. This is especially important for toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Frequent flyers recommend using these bags for easy access and to avoid liquid messes in your luggage 12. Keep Your Tech Organized Modern travelers rely heavily on gadgets, so it’s crucial to keep everything organized. Use a tech organizer or small pouches to store chargers, headphones, and power banks. This will keep your electronics safe and accessible while preventing tangled cords. 13. Don’t Overpack Your Carry-On While it’s tempting to fill your carry-on with as much as possible, overpacking can make it difficult to navigate the airport. Frequent flyers recommend keeping your carry-on light, with only the essentials. This allows you to move quickly through security and find storage space on the plane. 14. Consider Travel Insurance Although not directly related to packing, travel insurance is an essential part of a hassle-free trip. It offers protection in case of emergencies like cancellations, lost luggage, or medical issues. Always make sure to include this in your travel planning. How to Apply These Packing Tips to Your Travel Applying these best travel packing tips to your routine will make your trips smoother and more enjoyable. With practice, you’ll be able to pack like a pro and avoid the stress that comes with last-minute packing. External Resources to Enhance Your Travel Experience: Internal Links:

Canada’s population hits 41M months after breaking the 40M threshold

Canada has cracked a new threshold Justintime Travels news

Nine months after reaching a population of 40 million, Canada has cracked a new threshold. As of Wednesday morning, it’s estimated that 41 million people now call the country home, according to Statistics Canada’s live population tracker. The speed at which Canada’s population is growing was also reflected in new data released Wednesday by the federal agency: between Jan. 1 2023 and Jan. 1, 2024, Canada added 1,271,872 inhabitants, a 3.2 per cent growth rate — the highest since 1957. Most of Canada’s 3.2 percent population growth rate stemmed from temporary immigration. Without it, Canada’s population growth would have been 1.2 percent, Statistics Canada said. From Oct. 1 to Dec. 31, 2023, Canada’s population increased by 241,494 people (0.6 percent), the highest rate of growth in the fourth quarter since 1956. Usha George, a professor at the Toronto Metropolitan Centre for Immigration and Settlement at Toronto Metropolitan University, told Global News in June a booming population can benefit the economy. “It is not the bodies we are bringing in; these are bodies that fill in the empty spaces in the labor market,” she said. “They bring a very high level of skills.” However, Ottawa has recently sought to ease the flow of temporary immigration in a bid to ease cost-of-living woes. Immigration Minister Marc Miller said on March 21 that Ottawa would set targets for temporary residents allowed into Canada to ensure “sustainable” growth in the number of temporary residents entering the nation. The next day, BMO economist Robert Kavcic in a note to clients the new limits would have a positive impact on Canada’s rental market and overall housing crisis. “We’ve been firm in our argument that Canada has had an excess demand problem in housing, and this is maybe the clearest example,” Kavcic said. “Non-permanent resident inflows, on the net, have swelled to about 800K in the latest year, with few checks and balances in place, putting tremendous stress on housing supply and infrastructure.” Source: Global News
